Re: PayPal Only???
In Response To: PayPal Only??? ()

Here's my 10 cents because my 2 cents are free (or whatever the heck Eminem was saying...):

Paypal: This service is so easy and convenient and free unless you are a power seller that I always find it curious that some people seem to resist it so furiously. I prefer paypal as both a buyer and seller because of the convenience and speed of buying and selling. I hate going to the bank to deposit and wait for checks to clear. With paypal, the money is paid and its over. Even if a fee is involved, it's cheaper to me to pay that than the cost to me in time and energy and gas going to the bank. Money paid to me in paypal funds is also then immediately spendable. You can't say that about checks. Paypal is the 21st century. It is ebay's payment process. If you ebay, you need to paypal. If you have two rich people wanting to bid and neither has paypal, I mean, come on. It takes 5 minutes to sign up. You can now even bid and pay using a cell phone. Resisting paypal to me is like resisting computers or not knowing how to fix the blinking time on your vcr. It's a sign of the times.

Shipping to lower only: Again, I would rather affix pre-purchased postage in the convenience of my home rather than running to the PO to have packages weighed and to purchase insurance, etc. You can't really ship overseas without having to make a trip to the PO. That extra time and energy and gas makes the process of shipping a small order overseas almost cost prohibitive to me. For bigger or costlier purchases, sure, but not worth it for me to mail a $3 value chip for example.

Buyers and sellers must make choices based upon how they want to do business. Whatever is in their best interests. How many billions of items are for sale at one time on ebay? You couldn't view them all if you wanted to. If one person doesn't do business the way you want to do business....it's like the weather, if you don't like it, just wait, other weather will be along shortly. You also have the option of contacting the seller and making arrangements for purchase. If you are bidding high enough, I think a seller will in most cases make special arrangements. If you try to bid on the cheap, you are at the whim of whatever the seller is doing who is under no obligation to change the way he does business. Why get mad about this? One can't expect everyone else to share our specific opinions on how business should be done.

Ok, I've said too much. I'm sure it didn't all come out exactly as I meant - I'm sure at least the gist of what I am trying to say is clear - so please no flames. It's 6am and I should still be in bed. vbg
