Hot water will almost always pop an inlay
In Response To: It´s going to be hard... ()

The use of hot water will just about always pop an inlay... especially on an older chip.

My advice is simply leave the chip (mounted or not) the way you found it instead of screwing it up... grin

I've seen too many lifting inlays that have been glued and clamped down only to pop again.

There's nothing wrong with a light cleaning, but when it comes to using files, wet/dry abrasives and oils... you're certain to damage a chip [...and then what?].

Some don't believe a chip should be tampered with.
