I really could care less about other threads where you have had disagreements with others. In this particular thread you accused another member of trying to make someone look stupid. I am sorry you feel that way, but I just dont see it.
It has been discussed on this board MANY times that unless people post thier full names, a lot of people will just not answer the post. Gene was trying to be helpful, plain and simple.
As far as writing Peter an email?.... I guess Gene could have sent him a registered letter and Christmas card also. However the post was made on the board, and a normal response would have been on the board, hence the purpose of this board in the first place. If the intent was to inform both Peter and others, why do it in a private email? Wont this help out the general public by understanding that many people wont answer posts from unknown posters?
You are correct, it has been a long time since I was a new member. However I still see this post as an attempt to inform Peter as well as other new members of the best way to get a question answered.
Now if you have some personal vendetta against Gene then nothing I can say will change your mind. I know nothing about any previous posts between the two of you but if in fact you did ask him to change something in the way he was posting, then I can see where someone might construe that as censorship.
You can believe anything you want on this as that is your right. All I can say is I think you are wrong on this one and if you can back up and take an objective look at what your saying I think you might want to rethink your position.
From my position, I have been using this board a long time and have seen many, many posts. There was nothing wrong with what Gene said and there was no reason he should have been accused of doing anything wrong. That is my opinion and you are welcome to yours.
And that is my last word on this subject.
