Re: Funny You should mention this

Rick-You hit some real issues head on. None of us know what the ultimate timeline is for life and we all take risks on a daily basis just living. I support the idea of the Club perhaps "brainstorming" this issue and seeing what suggestions might come out of it. As a matter of conjecture, it might be something the Club would want to institute and provide a service to liquidate a collection upon a member's demise if called upon and do so for a percentage of the ultimate sale, something similar to what an executor is paid for handling an estate. Funds generated could then be used as donations to the Club's Building Fund with perhaps some sort of mention (a plaque perhaps?) being given as to those that chose to use the service, etc. Many of the Club Members are very networked in the chip arena and if structured correctly something like this shouldn't be a heavy burden on any of us. There's a lot that can be done with this idea and when a member passes unexpectedly, liquidating a chip collection is most likely the least issue the surviving family wants to deal with. If done properly and following a set protocol, I would consider using this type of service, just my humble 2 cents worth.
