collect what you like!! It doesn't sound like you're looking to make some money buying & selling LE's, so that's a good start . The good thing about most of the LE's is that they don't cost much over face to secure, but trying to keep up with the sheer number of releases can be expensive, especially dependant upon what denominations you are looking to collect.

As far as the old chips, they are usually a bit more pricey, but they are wonderful little bits of history. I happen to be a collector of both LE's (strictly Hard Rocks) and obsolete chips (mainly Las Vegas). The obsolete chips have their own concerns as every once-in-awhile, someone will find a box of what you just paid a bunch of money for.

As far as books go, The Chip Rack is what most Nevada collectors use as a reference guide and it lists the LE's issued for Nevada. The current issue (#10) is a couple of years old & we are all anxiously awaiting to hear when this guide will be updated. Campiglia & Wells "US Casino Guide" is also excellent (has great pictures, which TCR does not) and covers other areas besides Nevada.
