But Mark...
The rim nick/flake tells a story, too! grin

We don't know the stories of an individual chip until the chip is in our hands, so we have to use our imaginations. A rim nick, to me, says that the chip might have been a toke to a dealer...you know how they tap 'em on the tray so the suits know it's a tip...

So there's a new dealer on the table. There's a beautiful tipsy blonde playing at the table, and a dude sitting next to her who's showing an interest in her. The blonde is doing o.k., and the dude is winning, and he's being all nonchalant while the blonde is excitedly bouncing up and down in her seat every time he wins another hand. The dude is generously tipping the cocktail waitress everytime she brings another round. The dude convinces the blonde that the two of them should find a more intimate spot to share a drink or two, and they get up to leave. As they turn to walk away, the dude winks to the dealer and flips him a chip. The dealer, who hasn't been in the business long enough to be immune to what he's been watching, accepts the chip with a nod and a smile and nervously taps it on the tray...but he taps a little harder than he meant to, and he hit the corner of the tray instead of the edge...causing a chunk to flake off the edge of the chip....

Now, can you really say that you wouldn't want that chip in your collection??????? vbg

That said...I'd want to see both chips, but I could live with either one. grin
