Re: A followup...

I think I'm getting a headache.... sad

Douglas Alley?? I thought that was in Reno... Don't tell me--one of those little alleys that runs through downtown LV is named Douglas Alley?

Here's another one...I'm just reading a magazine from 1964 (Nevada, Centennial Issue). Gotta love this paragraph:
"Prior to the advent of the Cornero brothers, who constructed The Meadows, all of Las Vegas' gambling was done in the somewhat dingy confines of the Stocker's Northern Club, on Fremont Street; Joe Morgan's Silver Club, on North Second Street, or the elegant Apache Casino, on Second and Fremont Streets, which was run by Tommy Thebo and "Pop" Houskey. The latter was the first really plush casino in the community, although it was preceded by the Witiher-Goumond Boulder Club on Fremont, just west of the Apache and the Horden-operated "Big Four" establishment on North First Street."
North Second Street?!?!?!???! Joe Morgan must've had a Silver Club on every block! vbg
