I remember years ago (1976) when the $2.00 bill first came out. I affixed Stamps to the $2 bills and went too afew of my local Post Offices and they hand canceled them all.

I still have the $2 bills. I merely had them do that to prove when the $2 bill first came out. Maybe the rules have changed since then but you do fine some idiots who do work for the PO who have a chip on their shoulders. Some of the nicer ones will explain things to you. The rest are just dicks there and feel they are too stressed out.

As for them putting it in another envelope and sending it on (as long as they have a readable address) I think this is the standard procedure
for them. This it shows they delievered it to you.
