Brenda and I were originally scheduled for the Sunday night red-eye flight out of Vegas for our return trip to Jersey. We volunteered our seats on the overbooked American Airlines flight and were each given a $300 travel voucher good for a year, plus overnight hotel accomodations at Double Tree Hotel in Las Vegas and First Class seats on a 9 a.m. Monday morning out-going flight. Too good to be true!!

It was all downhill from there! We got to Dallas/Ft. Worth in our first-class accomodations o.k. ... but our connecting flight to Newark was cancelled. The follow up D/FW to Newark connecting flight we were booked on was delayed due to some bad weather back east and was rescheduled ... several times. There were at least 8 gate changes as we waited in D/FW over the next 8 hours and the First Class seats that were promised were all filled on the connecting flight so we were dowgraded to coach. To make a long story short ... we got arrived in Newark about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning and when we got into our driveway back in Brick, NJ, we realized that neither one of us had keys to the house since our neighbor was dog-sitting/house-watching for us. We slept in our car in our driveway for a couple of hours as we did not dare wake up our good next door neighbor in the middle of the night ... until we were awakened by the skunk odor from somewhere outside the car!

Oh well, we've got $600 in travel vouchers for a future trip on American Airlines and lots of wonderful positive memories from our 2005 CC & GTCC Convention experiences.

It was a GREAT show and we're looking forward to the 2006 event under the very capable Convention Chairmanship of Jim & Sandy Steffner once again!
