Try Verizon
In Response To: NCR: Cell Phone help wanted ()

I was with Sprint for the past couple of years, and decided to switch carriers. No real problems with Sprint, except for the fact of how they promise you a $200 rebate if you sign a 2 year contract. Once you complete the 2 years, you get a coupon in the mail for $200 off accessories!! The rebate is not in cash, and with mine, I couldn't even use it on a new phone. Then when my Nokia started having problems, I went into a Sprint store to check out new phones, and the sales guy started in with the same offer of a rebate after 2 years. I just turned around and left.

I was on Cingular around 5 years ago, and left them because I started getting strange charges on my local calls. A nickel here and there, sometimes even 15 cents on a local call. When I called customer service, they said that I was not within the boundaries, even though I was in the city, not showing roaming or any warning on my phone. The lady with Cingular told me that theoretically, I could make a free call, cross the street, dial the same number, and then be charged for it. Cingular always refunded the calls, but I thought it was a bit fishy, and didn't want to continue to do business with them. A couple of my buddies had the same issues with them.

So far, Verizon has been great. Been on it about 3 months with absolutely no problems. Got my $50 rebate within a month and a half after signing up. My phone (LG VX7000) is a wonderful phone (flip type), has many features and always gets perfect reception, even in the basement of my home. And for what it's worth, my parents recently went on an extended trip to CA (from TN), and their new Verizon LG phone performed flawlessly while driving across the country. They were previously on SunCom, and Mom said there was no comparison.

Hope this helps!
