In Response To: Re: What's it worth to YOU? ()

David thanks much for the nice comments about our book and I guarantee your customers will love the next one! It will be the same format, same coverage, but with every single price revised. Seriously I have redone every one and take pride that I am very accurate!
Most pictures will be changed as well. I am so thrilled this book is becoming a reality once again even if somehow 4 years have passed. Seems like yesterday we were working our butts off like we are now to meet deadlines. Now we have met the "text" deadline on the 3rd edition and have a great future of chipping to look forward to. Now the fun part placing 2,000 or so pictures with captions. I hope to be done in one more month with this. As before when our books came out it seems to really spur the interest in collectors.

Also the price will be kept the same although a larger book & all the full color will be in there as before. We see no reason to try to change the reasonable price of $29.95 as more books sell at this level it has been proven. Even though many have said they would pay $100 a copy! Now I would not turn down any donations- ha ha!

I saw the yellow $5 chip in question from the Horseshoe. I also saw him mention high book of $100 not saying this chip he has for sale was worth $100 but that my guide has it at $100. I think he might of even said "top book" and a collector can take that from there. If they use my book as many do they would probably look this up to see the 3 ranges as per condition then decide from his very nice pictures the condition of said chip in auction. His pictures are so large & clear its better than the naked eye I feel!

I see my book being quoted more and more the last few months. Perhaps I noticed this as I was really having to study thousands of auctions & track them. Have you noticed this too that more quote my book in one way or another? Some say the chip is worth over my book price. This is true of many sales that have gone 3 and 4 times the top price even if not even the top condition. I wish more would use the grading & value their chips accordingly. It seems most run to the top price only. Basically all this will be over hopefully in about 5 months when we all have a new Official Price Guide to use.
I appreciate your post & happy we opened up communication. I don't know if we have dealt before or not but I have seen your name out there often on the board.
