Stu; I don't know why you claim to be so confused by all of this after all the explanations and links to past history have been provided to you and yet still remain so confrontational .

Have you ever made a New Year's Pledge? Did you have to belong to an organization to make a New Year's Pledge? How long did you keep your New Year's Pledge before you broke it?

"The List" is no different than a pledge made by individuals for New Year. It's a personal committment ... not enforceable by any law or by the club. Like New Year's pledges, I'm sure that there are several individuals who signed on "The List" who have not kept their respective pledges. How many folks have taken marriage vows ... only to break them? You seem to want to hang on and challenge every word in The Pledge rather than to accept the spirit in which the language was drafted at a point in this hobby's development when it appeared chips might become like grading baseball cards and coin grading abuses. A sizeable number of chip collectors (many of whom happened to belong to the club) put their money where there mouth was and did something about it to keep the slabbers out of our hobby .... and we won.

Personally, (as one of the "good ole' boys") ... I support The Pledge 100%. If you don't ... so be it. You say that it does not represent a majority of club members. The List has NOTHING to do with the club ... but if you want to compare numbers ... compare the significant amount of numbers of those who signed on to "The List" and the numbers of club members who voted in any of the past OTY contests ... or who voted in past elections.

The bottom line that no one has touched on yet ... is that NONE of these slabbed chips being offered for sale on HSN will be permitted for sale at dealer tables on the bourse floor at a CC & GTCC Convention or in any convention exhibits .... which has NOTHING to do with "The Pledge". I'm sure that you'll probably have a problem with that club policy position taken also.
