Jim, As a collector, I'm looking to find as many chips as possible in my interest areas. Many times it is not possible to find chips in perfect condition or without a cancellation. I have many cancelled chips in my collection and I'm very happy to have them. Of course, from a value standpoint, a non-cancelled chip will appreciate much more than a cancelled version. I have made the mistake of passing on non-cancelled chips because I have a cancelled example only to see the value of the non-cancelled chip rise dramatically.

The bottom line for me is to have the chip in my collection. If you put together a quality collection, it will increase in value while you have fun collecting.
