I am really surprised at some of the answers here.

It is ALWAYS the senders/sellers responsibility to deliver the goods and to provide for replacement if the shipment is lost and/or damaged. That responsibility isn't simply "waived" by some blurb in an online listing. I don't even know where someone would get such an idea other than from some wannabee lawyer on an ebay message board.

Even if insurance is offered and refused, the buyer has recourse against the seller for failure to deliver (this is why I don't like to pay by check or money order). The buyer can't even file an insurance claim (and this is why they should NEVER buy it). It is the seller (shipper) that must file the claim and asking someone to pay to reduce your risk is a ludicrous proposition at best.

Lord knows for some of the shipping & handling fees I've seen, folks could send the stuff return receipt requested and still make out.

If you are really a paranoid seller, you should ship by a means whereby you can track the shipment and confirm delivery. Otherwise, be prepared to replace the item if it is lost and/or damaged which in all likelihood will be very seldom.

Where a trade with a member is concerned, are you kidding? Replace/return the chip(s).
