Jim, I have no doubt that it was the Post office that lost your chip. I would never accuse any chipper of trying to extract unwarrented funds from another chipper.

But in the same case, if I bought an item from a mail order firm, dept store or from where ever or whom ever, I expect delivery of that item.

This discussion has been on the board many times and of course, with no resolve.

But I believe most people feel the way I do and that is if a inexpensive chip is involved, than the seller just replaces it if it is lost. If it is an expensive chip, than the seller should self insure it as the minute shipping charges are probably built in the sales price anyway.

Possibly a good topic for Will's "opinion pole."

If you don't think $2.00 is too much to ship a single chip, then the next time I sell you a single chip for face value plus actual postage ($0.49¢) then you will add another $1.51¢ because you think that is much fairer of a deal. grin
