Re: Looking For A Knowledgeable Chipper

Hi Victor!
I hope you find someone for that fellow but I'm afraid most knowledgeable "chippers" who write are already writing for others.

I am sad to report to you that our hobby doesn't have that many knowledgeable individuals who also like to write. Acquiring "chip" knowledge or any type of knowledge requires many hours of hard work and research. I'm afraid it is a requirement many collectors are not willing nor have the time to make. The result is we have many who think they "know" but in fact know very little.

They are quick to voice opinions without doing the homework it takes to support that opinion. Sometimes, I am guilty of doing that as well. vbg

Many of these individuals spend countless hours on Ebay trying to "steal" a good chip or sell the junk they have boxes and boxes of. In reality, they know nothing of a "chips" history nor do they care to learn. Thery are Ebay experts just ask them. grin They can tell you a chip is or isn't worth an amount BECAUSE it was bought or sold at such and such value. When the novelty of buying and selling wears off, they will be gone to another area of interest.

Have a nice Sunday!
Best, Mr."P"
