Kling's Reno Book...

...never mentions Mapes Money Tree but he talks about the Mapes and the Money Tree (211 North Virgina St.). The two casinos shared employees as well as some chips (by your surmise) with split shifts in some cases from one property to the other. The two different address aren't referenced in his book but there was an expansion and they apparently bridged over an alley into an adjoining building. The new improved Money Tree re-opened in '78, the same exact time as Circus Circus, perhaps they also changed the entrance and address. Unhappy Mapes and Money Tree closing in '82, $16million owing to banks, $73K to unpaid employees and $880 grand to creditors. Near riot when closing announced to Money Tree workers! Eddies Fab. opened and closed there and currently , per Kling, Guidci's Gambler and new owner Eddie's fabulous 50's. Does that gibe with the shop there now Larry?
