In my local casino in the UK, there is a lady who plays blackjack and casino stud poker (Caribbean stud) who is blind. The dealer tells here what she has when playing blackjack. When playing poker, the dealer waits until everyone else has seen and either bet or thrown their hand, and then opens this lady's hand for her, tells her what she has and she decides if she wishes to bet.

Both games are such that this has no effect on anyone else and so there is no problem - and she seems to win whenever I'm at the same table so she's doing something right!!
