I guess that's why I consider this an issue worth taking a stand on. What we have "out there" are people who deliberately use the term obsolete (along with rare, scarce, etc.) to deceive and imply greater value than warranted. Like those who claim the Harrah's $1 brass core is "obsolete" at Harrah's Tahoe, without mentioning that it's still current at Harrah's Reno.
If we can't agree on a reasonable, useful definition of the term obsolete, how can we ever claim someone is misusing it? To say an LE is obsolete simply because it's sold out isn't reasonable or useful. To say nothing can ever be obsolete, because more and more cage managers aware of the hobby would jump at a chance to get that old chip for face, is likewise useless.
