Larry; Yes, you are correct. Any CHIPCO L.E.'s that are turned into the cage at Trump Plaza are supposed to be "retired" while awaiting disposition to be sent to destruction. However, strange things have happened in casino cages.... depending upon who knows who ... or who can get "stuff" out.

I'm glad that we agree on my specific example that the CHIPCO product at Trump Plaza would be considered "obsolete" ... but I'm equally certain that there are still those who take the opposing viewpoint that as long as a chip is redeemable for face value at the casino cage, it would not be considered "obsolete" ... no matter what the club definition is.
