Welcome to the BB Gary. What you have found is so common on eBay that I've given up worrying about it. For a good laugh type is "Rare Scarce" as your search criteria on eBay and have a laugh.

When I see common chips, that are still on the tables, offered as obsolete, rare or hard to get, I know the seller is playing loose and fast with the facts.

As for the actual picture, I agree that as long as the chip is equal or better than the scan, what's the problem? If it's sold as in like new condition and that's the picture, it better come that way. If it's listed as used and the picture shows a used chip, I'm happy to get a used chip... I think too much has been made out of a small issue. I agree that a worn chip shipped, when the picture is of a like new, is wrong.

About the negatives. Long ago, in a place far away Etc. ;-) I left a Negative for a guy who was claiming to have "James Bond Movie Props" with certificate of authenticity. He made the Certs. himself, and the chips can not be distinguished in any manner from the store chips sold at Paulson. (and may very well be that all are the same)

This was before the eBay rule that you must have a dealing to post a comment. So in retribution I got three negatives, one from the seller, and one each from two of his buddies. Next time he had a James Bond auction, someone else wrote a Negative, and got a couple of Negs. back. The thug didn't win this one, because anyone who looks at his ratings can see, that the James Bond chips are fakes. It will stay with him forever. (ps I opened another eBay account in 1996 and have no negatives, which is an apparent oxymoron? grin
