In the 13 years of going to Vegas we never took our daughter until last year. During last year's trip she was ten-years old and we were quite surprised how many times we were told to keep moving if we even paused anywhere inside a casino area. This was true even when we stopped to purchase some drinks at an open bar counter. We were told it was Nevada law that a minor cannot loiter in or near gaming areas.
