The problem is that slabbing can not be meaningful since there is no commonly accepted grading standard. The club standard is not commonly accepted either so that doesn't solve the problem.
Further even if a 6 grade system such as the club has proposed became commonly accepted what need would there be for an "expert" opinion?
The system is not to difficult for people to apply themselves, so pay an expert?
Lastly as long as Doug Saito sells chips his grading could always be suspect. Its not to question his honesty, I have no reason to do that. But the mere fact that the value of chips he sells could be influenced by the grades he assigns to other chips creates an unavoidable conflict of interest. AGAIN I AM NOT SUGGESTING HE IS DISHONEST.
