I only mentioned it as an alternative. I only wish I had the money I spent chasing (newest/ latest/ bestest) I actaully back dated My new Toshiba Laptop to Win 98 SE from Millennium edition so I didn't have to upgrade (spend money) on all of the other software I use.

I am not a real big Fan of Microsoft and their "approved software" inclusions. Most of the stuff they include just occupy space on my hard drive and are never used.

Most casual home users have more time than money so a slightly slower machine is not really inconvenient. As long as it is able to do what the owner wants it to do.
