I've got a free upgrade coupon that came with the Gateway I purchased in June, but I'm hesitant to install it just yet. Our network administrator explained that one of the problem scenarios is as follows: The software requires you to register online within 30 days of installation or it shuts down. No problem, you install it and register. Then, if anything happens to your machine that requires you to reinstall XP, it's already been registered once, so it can't be registered again when you reinstall it. I haven't read enough to know of there is a way around this problem...maybe somebody else reading this knows. I'd like to install it too, but I want to make sure they've got some way to deal with such a situation.
