Cleaning the center inlay will not change the colors unless there is dirt on there. This will bring out the white or brighten colors masked by dirt & grime & things we don't want to know about.
The plastic coating on the center inlay protects the printing underneath. It does not protect it from fade though from the sun.
You will notice the lt. blue is used much more too. Therefore possibly requiring much cleaning as it appears was done.
