What you say is largely true but remember this. For another airline to step in and pick up the pieces a few things will happen. First, someone will have to start from scratch. That will take months to years. In the mean time we will have to endure a length of time where there will not be enough flights to meet demand for cargo and mail. Costs of goods in stores etc. will rise. Second whoever takes over will have to increase prices to make them run more efficiently than they do now. The post office will have to raise your 1st Class postage to about a buck (irrational estimate perhaps) or third, another airline that happens to survive will step in and buy out the other airline(s) We already have anti-trust problems with airlines acquiring each other. What will we do when there are a choice of only 3 airlines in this entire country.
