I appreciate your talking the time and effort to post your position on chip slabbing. As you know, there are both positive and negative aspects to slabbing. As a coin dealer I am sure that you know the negatives of coin slabbing. I am sure that you have also seen the negatives in slabbing baseball cards. Why do choose to ignore the negatives of chip slabbing and only focus on your view of the potential positives? Chip collectors have genuine concerns that the negatives of slabbing will have a devastating effect on our hobby. Coupled with the facts that the slabbing companies refuse to cooperate with the hobby ... they won't tell what their grading standards are, what their guarantees mean or who is grading their chips ... chip collectors would rather just not have anything to do slabbing.

One interesting point. You said that "I must admit I have been amazed at the response to the certification and grading of casino chips". And you are right. I don't think that there is another hobby that is as well organized as chip collecting. It is amazing that there is such a strong voice against something we view as a threat to our hobby. We recognize that we have the ability to make a difference and are exercising our right to do so.

The chip collecting hobby is not perfect, we have our own problems as you were nice enough to point some of them out. But we are no different than any other hobby and we are making efforts to improve.

From your post, it is obvious to me that you have no real interest in casino chips, other than something else you can add to your inventory to sell at a profit. Please stick to selling coins and leave chip sales to those in the hobby who are genuinely interested in casino chips.
