I believe that others may already know this because of other reasons but to illustrate my point about IPs this is what I can find from today's posts. We can connect Dale with peter van der car. Unlike the other hits in my searches where I connected UPBOB to another persons IP number the times that the posts were posted are very close. Recall that the other person I found had an Identical number but the times of the posts were dramatically different. They could not have been made during the same session as they were 12 to 24+ hours apart. These posts on the other hand must have been made during the same session.

DALE (152.163.206.187) -- 8/7/01 1:19 p.m.
peter van der car (152.163.206.187) -- 8/7/01 1:17 p.m.

Likewise, BOB is the same as DALE.

BOB (152.163.206.203) -- 8/7/01 3:19 p.m.
DALE (152.163.206.203) -- 8/7/01 3:16 p.m.

They are two or three minutes apart. All three of these people are definately the same. BOB is DALE and DALE is peter therefore BOB must be peter too.

I know that these connections are no secret but they do illustrate what needs to be looked for before anyone determines that someone is someone else based on the IP numbers. If people try to use these numbers alone, as a means for ID they will be ignoring a lot of innocent people who just happen to access through the same provider and servers. These numbers are used by many people and can even be reissued to two different people over a period of time. Nobody has mentioned the above in this thread but I have heard others in other threads talk about not viewing posts with certain IP numbers. I caution that that could be a mistake. You have to be able to connect that IP number to the other contributers by connecting the times together too. I like the fact that some are tagging this persons posts with an identifying reply. If we pay attention to those and NOT OPEN the originating posts maybe our phantom jerk out there will no longer have any fun and go away. It is clear that he is trying to elicit a response. With all this attention he is getting what he wants.
