Re: Here's my hypothesis
In Response To: A question for Mark Karoll ()

OK I don't collect LE's (a $5 chip is too rich for my blood, even at face value vbg), and I haven't even been collecting casino chips for long, so I don't really know the whole story, but from reading all the posts the past few days, I have drawn my own conclusion. It goes something like this: it seems to me as if casinos started (and continue) to release LE's more as a service to collectors than anything else. They might have realized that house chips were becoming boring to many collectors, and as in other collecting hobbys (coins, sports cards, etc.) there was (and is) a need for some harder to find, extraordinary items to collect. But now, the problem has gotten out of hand. In an attempt to create a market for higher end chips (as a service to us, which i dont disagree with at all), the casinos have gotten quite carried away and have reached the point where they have begun to limit releases so much that they have created quite a controversy....does that make any sense, or am I rambling?
