Norton automatically updates my DATS daily. The virus Bob mentions was discovered on July 17 (less than a week ago) and has already been upgraded to a "4" (making it a higher distribution/ threat level than some viruses.)

DATS should be upgraded WEEKLY - if not daily (I'll be doing mine TWICE a day for awhile) and I also run a late night (Friday - middle of the night) full scan EVERY WEEK. Right now? DAILY!
A good program will allow you to do all this automatically and as the post said above - even if you are on the computer, it doesn't interfere with your work or transactions.

I couldn't get Bob's link to work so here it is again... info on this Sircam virus. This link will tell you which files to "search for" if your virus program isn't catching it... what the email should contain... and removal info should you detect it.
