I've never said, written or thought about a negative remark to you, but your post bothers me.

I am glad you said "some" because some of us new issue providers provide a list of chips to be issued prior to release and charge a modest service fee to get that chip if the chip is ordered prior to release. Even though that issue may command many times more than that quoted including the service fee, the original service fee is recognzed. For example, I offered my new issue customers the Riviera porn set of three chips at $21.00, face plus $2.00. The day after release, this set was selling for over $300.00. I honored my committment of $21.00. Another example is the Riviera 4th Hologram...I offered it to my NIS customers at $15.00 and honored that price even though it rose to over $60 on the street.

"So what if chips remain in the casino for a few weeks, that let's some of you out-of-towners have the chance to travel here and get them for your selves."

How many collectors have the opportunity, chance, and funds to get here when the time is right. I don't condone total buy out by one person but I sure don't like having to go back to the casino twenty times to get the number I need for pre-orders.

Liz and I encourage chipping and try to obtain chips at no more than $2.00 over face for a $5 chip. But when we have to go back twenty times to fill pre-orders (that we sincerely feel obligated to fill, or 100 times to the casino that has a one per person limit), $2.00 per chip wipes out any hint at profit.

So bottom line is: Let the dealers get the number they want with relative ease. We all provide a service to those who are not here in Vegas when the chip is released. Some of us charge more, some less. The buyer determines from whom he will buy based on a variety of factors including price, reliability, and service. But damn, don't make us charge more to fulfill our committments because we can only get one or five at a time.
