Re: AND HERE'S A STORY ON THE LATIN QUARTER

This chip is much scarcer than the 633. Buy it know for $15??????

Red Masterson was Clevelands enforcer in Northern KY. He is the one that burned Beverly Hills the 1st time it burned, killing the young daughter of the caretaker. I knew Red well from many poker games. Red also was part owner/operator of the Merchants Club. The Merchants was the 1st Newport casino to have a Nason's race/sports book. Nason's are featured in my Arrowhead Inn columns on Chequers.
I have hub mold chips and records that were sent to Red at the Merchants and then sent on to The Hotel Dover in Detroit.

RE 633. I did not know the Levison that ran the Fremont, but have played in many poker games with Sleepout Louie Levison.

Good poker story:
After the clubs closed in the early 60's, the boys played in a weekly poker game at 5th & Madison in Covington. Red was always there. One night three guys with shotguns came in and robbed them. They made the boys get nude and took their clothes. Disabled the phones and left. Next day, the KY post had a story about a bunch of naked men hailing cabs at 5th and Madison about 4AM. Remember most of these guys were 60 and up, by then. It wasn't long before the KY post was running a story about 3 bodies found in the Ohio river. Red was not someone to mess with.
