AND HERE'S A STORY ON THE LATIN QUARTER
In Response To: GENE T. I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT ()

Same author & EBAY seller:

READ THIS INTERESTING STORY: Primrose Club Located just
outside Newport, Kentucky, in Wilder, was a club called the Primrose (later
named the Latin Quarter). The structure which houses the club was an old one
with a history of hauntings. It was said that the ghosts of Civil War soldiers
roam the building. The Primrose was owned by Buck Brady. He was one of
unfortunate people who thought they could run a club without the help of the
Cleveland syndicate. Like many others before him, Buck was about to find out
just hard that would be. One morning, Buck was visited by a friend who
informed him that a contract had been put out on his life. Buck's attitude was
"hit or be hit" and he sought out the source of his fear in a syndicate member
named Red "The Enforcer" Masterson. Catching Masterson off-guard, Buck
unloaded a shot in him, causing damage but not death. Red Masterson wanted
revenge and went to his bosses. After much discussion, it was agreed to that the
initial shooting brought on too much publicity and killing Buck would be too
harmful. Buck was allowed to live, but banished from the area. Knowing he
lucked out, Buck quickly agreed to hand the Primrose Club over to the
syndicate and hopped the first plane to Florida. The Cleveland syndicate came
in and changed the name to the Latin Quarter. Like the others clubs that were
thrown into the syndicate's gambling pot, the club was an instant success. One
thing the Cleveland boys knew was gambling.
