There is so much to see. However, we enjoy the Valley of Fire State Park (33 miles north off I 15). The trip to Pahrump and on up to Devil's Hole,Death Valley Nat. Monument is fascinating and on the way back you can drive up to Mt. Charleston. Then, west of town on Charleston, I think, there is the magnificent Red Rock Canyon. And, of course, the Boulder Dam and the city with its non-gambling but interesting antique shops.
