Long canes does not always mean its a C&J

Chip #1 is a Christy and Jones (long cane & shiny hats)
Chip #2 is a Burt Company H&C (long cane & NO shiny hats)
Chip #3 is a Paulson H&C (short cane & NO shiny hats)

Same 3 chips with close up look at the hats and canes.

Having long canes also does not mean that its a Christy for sure. Even though Chip #2 & #3 looks like they have the same insert shape. Check out the difference in the length of the cane.

Chip #2 has long canes, but lacks the Christy insert concave shape. That and the NO SHINE means that its a Burt Company H&C.

Chip #3 lacks the Christy insert concave shape. That and the short cane means that its a Paulson H&C.

Hope this helps.

Joe

Time permitting, will try to post my 2 cents worth on "How to tell if a dirty grungy chip with long canes is a Christy"

What makes Christy & Jones "unmistakable"?
