For US coins isn't the question not relevant?

LET ME SPELL THIS OUT, UP FRONT. I DO NOT COLLECT COINS AND NEVER HAVE. But, I am under the impression that US coins, unlike all other countries in the world are negotiable for face value. (Some may be worth more than face value, but always face value or more.)

Therefore, I would contend, US coins are never obsolete.

Now that I have made this statement, please re-read my disclaimer. vbg
