This is no longer about my chip - but I DO have questions about "colors". I tried to find some "basic" chips that many people should have at least some of &/or ones of the same color of in their collections.
From the top - 12:O0 going clockwise:
RED Horseshoe
YELLOW 4Q
ORANGE Ca
PINK Longhorn
PURPLE Nugget (for the record, this purple chip does not "match" ANY of the "colors" in Paulson variations scan I saw below... not the ONES that were SHOWN at least. OR - NOT on ON MY computer (?). AND at least- not any closer than other chips we have been discussing "matching" either... but that's JUST for the record )
and the MAROON SB
NOW - MY SCANNER will not scan and show the "hot pink" chip as "hot pink" as it is in R/L. Looking at the Paulson scan - IF I had to make a call - BASED ON THAT SCAN ONLY - I'd almost have to say THIS 50c Longhorn was "fuschia"! But "PINK" isn't there - so I'm not sure if that would be a better match...
and the SB - would be closer to "chocolate".
My questions: when designating a "color" for a chip (including inserts... ) is there a standard? or color chart? set of chips? anything used to determine the color?
or - is "purple" just "purple" because that is what "it is"? What color is this Nugget? Purple? or Lt purple? or "fields-n-flowers purple"...
???????????? I dunno - I'd say "purple".
Q2: if my scanner won't reflect "true color" (maybe because it only "sees" XXX colors) - and I see no way to increase it's ability (I checked.)- will a "better" scanner or software program increase the accuracy of my scans?
Comments?
Thx
