Wayne's post to Brian is simply stating facts. This discussion has come up every year since the very first convention. Archie went through it, I did for four years and Wayne has examined this thing frontwards and backwards for the past 3 years. The Convention Chairman and the Board have always made the convention decisions based on what is best the Club AND the members. It is a tough balancing act.

The show has gotten to a size, as Wayne explained, our options are limited. Trust the Convention Chair and the Board to make the most logical chose there is, once they have all the facts and figures in front of them. It is alot easier to say "Let's have a vote to decide Strip or off Strip", but the reality is you have to deal with the properties that WANT us, that have what WE NEED,that we can AFFORD and room rate that the MEMBERS WILL PAY!

I know this may be hard to believe, but most of the Strip hotels DON'T WANT US, the ones that due would prefer that we don't come on the weekend or want to charge you $189 a weekend night for a room. Anybody want to guarantee 250 rooms at that rate? Besides, you would have a hard time locking in the dates you want for 2002 at this late date.

But remember, wherever or whenever the convention is, it is about the chips, tokens and spending time with other collectors! Good Luck to the New Convention Chairman, whoever that may be!!
