From my standpoint, collecting chips is about casinos and their history. There is no better place than Las Vegas - that's where the real casinos are and that's where the history is. I prefer Las Vegas.

As to the Hotel, it seems there are two issues - the cost to the club and the cost to the out-of-town attendees. This hobby is not cheap and the out-of-town attendees are already spending airfare, parking, taxi's, meals, etc to attend. My guess is that the room cost is essentially a non-issue to the out-of-town attendees. That doesn't mean they don't care, just that room cost would not effect their decision to attend or not attend. That said, then it becomes an economic issue for the club. We need to balance the cost of the show against the ambiance, and that I will leave up to the leadership. Keeping dues low (through lower show cost)will encourage more participants in the club (without regard to whether they attend the show). SOOOOOOO....maybe if we all got special ratings cards they could monitor our gambling and they might be more interested in reducing their charges.
