Re: Who do you love more, youreself or the club?

There was such a requirement adopted and voted upon by the membership in attendance at a prior convention's annual meeting .... when that was the rule to amend. (more to follow)

Peter; I'll concede that there were no requirements for Chapters to follow when the Colorado Chapter made application to the National...... (more to follow.)

>>>>"Only after a system was in place should any Chapter have been recognized."

After basic requirements WERE put into place and the National received applications from Chapters who were well aware of the requirements .... it would not have resolved the present dilema. (more to follow.)

>>>>"However that was not done and thus we find ourselves with this problem. I clearly recognize that the CCC is in a different position then the other Chapters because of their history. What I do not understand is why you belive that the entire Chapter membership problem should be tailored around the CCC's unique position."

There are/were local clubs that applied for Chapter Status well after Colorado applied, and who were furnished with copies of what it meant to become a Chapter and the regulations that were expected for them to abide by. In spite of being forwarned, some of these Chapter still did not enforce the requirement that all members of the Chapter had to hold membership in CC & GTCC. The fact that the National did not have these rules in place at the time Colorado applied to become a Chapter has no bearing on the Chapters that followed and the resulting controversy today. Yes, Colorado may have been the catalyst that ignited the current firestorm, but other chapters were equally guilty, or more so, by not abiding by what was required of them.

My solution offered, is to decertify ALL Chapters and allow them to assert their own independence, but still promote and encourage CC & GTCC membership and to support the hobby in general and the CC & GTCC specifically.
