Re: The free market system at work.

"I have heard of other services where you have to bid on the chip if the issue is limited and the provider does not get enough to cover everyone."

I've heard the same thing too, BriaN. I think bidding is the fairest way to distribute a small number of chips obtained to a large group of loyal subscribers who want them. My new issues service has worked very well that way for more than five years now. To award a chip to a subscriber (via a lottery) who may have just signed up in a service only one month ago (and who may drop out a month later) is not fair to those subscribers who have been with me for up to five years. Plus, who is going to oversee the lottery to insure fairness... and not favoritism?

Look at the heading on this thread: "The Free Market System At Work" it reads .... not the lottery system at work. Speaking for my customers, they seem to appreciate the way I've handled short supply Atlantic City issues. I've had only one complaint. I've only had three occassions where I could not get enough chips where I had to conduct an auction. The first one was the $5 Golatta fight chip from Caesars; the second one was the $5 Will Espin chip at Tropicana; and the most recent episode was also a Tropicana chip.... the $5 NJ Poker Championship Tournament chip .... and you know the story about that one.
