Re: Forget the gas!

If I were only putting chips in my own collection, I'd drive to the casino at my convenience, buy one chip, go home, scan it, post it on the board, and put it away. I'd be done! The service means dozens of emails, responses, keeping track of who wants what, keeping them informed when I get chips, when I mail chips, when I get their checks, the packing, standing in line at the post office, which takes a lot more time than just picking up my mail. I can pick up my mail at 7pm if I want to. I have to take time during the day to mail stuff. It's a freaking lot of work. And there's the money out of pocket. I don't get the money first before I go to the casino and buy enough to make sure I can cover everybody in case this turns out to be the most popular chip of the century. And Reno chips tend to come in bunches. And if I don't buy enough and have to make two trips, then that's gas! And more time. As for mileage, I do charge extra for Tahoe chips when I make a special trip to Tahoe to get chips for my subscribers. If I only needed one chip for myself, I would pay the extra price to buy it from a more local provider or on eBay.
