... to provide the information about the chip find involved here. At least, there would be no criminal liability for failing to do so; furthermore, I doubt that there is any civil liability, either.

From a legal point of view, there is a huge difference between stating lying and lying by omission. Nevertheless, as I have said in other posts on this subject, I think there was an ethical obligation here which Dean failed to live up to. ----- jim o\-S
