WOW! Great find Gene and Robert! The 500 Club was one of Atlantic City's most famous night clubs .... well before legalized gaming came to town. It was frequented by the most influential people and featured top headliner entertainers for years. I remember going to the 500 club in the 1960's while attending union conventions in Atlantic City. The place was owned by Skinny DAmato.... one of the most powerful politicians in Atlantic County. It was not a big secret that gambling was going on there. The secret has been... up till now... what did the chips look like that were in use there?

Bob Mera was convinced that the scan I've provided below was the 500 Club's chips in use, of which I was very skeptical about for years. But others who have purchased these chips from Bob kind of pushed vigorously for their inclusion in my Atlantic City Catalog. Here are the chips that are illustrated on page 55 of the 1999 Edition of Black's Catalog... which may be now found to be mis-attributed, according to the new documentation that has been uncovered. Then again, maybe the new discovery, and the chips that are listed in my catalog, were both used at one time or another at the 500 club?

I promise to get you a whole bunch of supplemental information on this famous nightclub. In fact, Brenda and I will work on it this Friday and get back to you all next week.
