Just my opinion, but if a chip is no longer used at the casino that it was originally intended, then maybe it should be considered an obsolete chip. If another casino takes over using them, then they are using obsolete chips.
I think that if you have an organization such as the chip club, which is serious about the hobby, maybe there should be strict definitions about termonology. What is an obsolete? What is a LE, etc. I know that some would be concerned about this, as they may not want it as structured as official coin termonology. Maybe to much structure takes some of the fun out of collecting.
Most of you from your years of experience would have a more legitimate opinion on the above. I would certainly defer to your opinions, as most of you have been collecting much longer than I and have much more experience to draw from.
