As a first time visitor to this bulliten board I find the discussion very interesting. But I thought I should take Lee Brutons comments on the Lodge, a step further. Yes we have a greedy Casino General manager trying to make as much as he can on his chips, with the help of an unwitting accomplice "The Holder Provider". As I understand from a cage source,(not overly reliable), there are only 125 of the 500 sets left, after the grand opening party Saturday night. And Just maybe, this problem is only in Colorado,,, today. But think about this. This Casino General manager, is not from Colorado, he is a transplant. From Las Vegas, with corporate connections, as I am told, to some of the larger casino operations in the country, with over 25 years in the business. And lots of friends. Enough friends to know that he was a dealer/Actor in the "Casino De Isthmus" James Bond Movie. Where he recieved the 1000 prop chips from his table in the movie. Yes, the same FANTASY chips which are all over Ebay. Which he sold to a collector for $10,000.00. (Glad it wasn't me! I buy at Paulsons) So how long will it take for the story of his success to get around the gaming community? To a Casino manager, at Your favorite Casino? Get ready, because if we can not change the gaming chip regulations, we may see this all over the country! As the demand increases, people get more greedy. Just look at the beanie babies fiasco at the All Star Game in Denver this week. Theft's, arrests, counterfits, Mob Scenes, etc. And they are still selling for more than the price of the Scalpers tickets.

So, its my belief that it is time to take a more active role in working with the casino management to foster better relationships between the collectors and the management so that these problems do not get worse. Saying that we will not buy them may not be enough, when the general public thinks that anything with a collectable "tag" on it makes it more valuable than it really is.
