Cripple Creek news

I spent Sunday "up the hill" in Cripple Creek, and thought some folks might like to know what chipping landscape changes are happening.

Lucky Lola's closed their doors Thursday March 12th. ...no warning.

Glitter Gulch (closed, no gaming equipment left in the relatively new building), Maverick's, and Old Chicago ALL go on the auction block as separate lots on April 7th at the Antler's DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs. The minimum bid on Glitter Gulch is $100,000, will get you a longterm lease on a fairly prime piece of property, but you have to fill it with gaming equipment. Maverick's has a suggested minimum of $350,000. That would get you a currently operational casino/restaurant, one level, around 7500 sq. ft., (I think). Old Chicago is a 12,000 sq. ft.+ two story operational casino/restaurant, with a suggested minimum bid of $395,000. Both Maverick's and Old Chicago buys would include longterm leases (you'd be buying the inards, and renting the buildings). ...if I had it, I'd bid on Old Chicago...

Gold Digger's has removed their BJ tables, making them a strictly machine available casino, all of their chips are now obsolete.

.......in case anyone was wondering, Bob in Colorado
