Paul, I left New York in 1967 & have NEVER been back! Bruce Landau told me a few years ago that it's dangerous to go to the Yankee Stadium, which is where I spent many wonderful summers in the bleachers & then selling hot dogs during the glory years. Fond memories which I don't want to spoil. I went to De Witt Clinton H.S. & then on to CCNY. I moved to Florida in 1970. When I was a younger lad, I did recall poker rooms in the Bronx & I did run numbers for my barber. On Jerome Avenue, in some of the bars that the Yankees frequented after their games, they did have "back rooms" where I did see slot machines, large chalk boards, & other such things. I did see many a card game go on & many of the old Yanks were involved. Pete Rose is an angel compared, to the guys I saw back then. Isn't it fun to look back & bore everybody on this BBS. :-)>
