Very few special editions of 1,000 come in under $1. They can run up to $1.50 and higher in some cases. The question should be when do they make it not how much they make. Since it is always worth face, they have the use of the money until you bring it back. Most chippers would be surprized to see what comes back. I have seen LE's selling for $30 and the next day someone will walk in and cash in 20 or 30 of them. Does the government make money on coin collectors? How about stamps? Not if you spend the coins later or mail a package.

If you combine all LE's in all casinos there is big money involved. Does it really matter to a true collector. I collect because of the enjoyment it gives me. I walked out of casinos as early as 1961 with chips and have enjoyed them everytime I've looked at them or showed them off. 30 years from now an LE collector can do the same. Keep every little bit of history you can get on your current or LE chips. Thats what hobbies are all about!!! Its not about money.
